Past Grant Applications

Carnegie Corporation of New York

These proposals request funds to establish (2002) and to continue with the establishment of (2005) Structural Biology in South Africa by exploiting the synergies that exist between the Universities in the Western Cape, and to increase student numbers in the Joint UCT/UWC Masters programme by responding to lessons learned from the first three years.

NRF Key International Science Capacity (KISC) Initiative

The NRF Key International Science Capacity (KISC) initiative is a programme aimed at the unilateral funding of South Africa-based research projects or activities demonstrating a clear element of local capacity building, through international collaboration, in critical scientific and technological expertise currently scarce or lacking in the country, or the transfer of such expertise from abroad through international student and/or researcher exchange.

CHED award for Collaborative Educational Practice

The CHED award for collaborative educational practice (CEP) is aimed at UCT staff who have collaborated on a particular project to enhance the teaching and learning environment. Projects might involve curriculum development at course or programme level, materials development, innovation in teaching delivery or assessment practice, and the appropriate use of educational technology.
